Are women not capable of having positions of leadership?

Are women not capable of having positions of leadership?

I have heard many people, even other women, saying that women should not have positions of leadership.

For this question, I would like to put aside the fact that Sarah Palin has a very young child at home and other family issues.  I understand that people feel she needs to be there for her kids, but this is not the question I want to get opinions on.  Even when Hillary had a chance of becoming the first woman president, many didn't feel that she was capable because of gender and she doesn't have a young child to care for.

So, what do you think?  Are women not capable of having positions of leadership?  Should it come down to gender instead of experience, ability, determination, and all of the other basic qualities of a good leader?

Is it Mom's Job?

Is it Mom's Job?

I came across this picture on another blog recently, and I decided this would be the perfect way to start off my new blog.  This label is actually on clothing lines such as “Puta Madre,”dieforit,” and “non grada” in The Netherlands.

So, what do you think?  Is it really Mom's job?  If Mom works just as many hours as Dad, is it still her job to do the cooking, cleaning and the laundry?

Should boys and girls be taught separately in school?

Should boys and girls be taught separately in school?

Have you read about the school that has separated the boys and girls for classes?  Not only are they separated by gender, the school is teaching them differently as well.  A girls' math class is not the same as a boys' math class.  This is based on the belief that girls and boys learn differently.

So, what do you think?  Should there be separate classes for boys and classes for girls?  Should they be taught in different ways?

Do you think that Obama will lose because of race?

Do you think that Obama will lose because of race?

It's all over the news.  The issue of racism is now something that has to be faced head on instead of trying to sweep it under the rug.  In a poll that was recently done, a large percentage of white Americans harbor resentments toward African Americans.  Many of them may not vote for Obama, regardless of any other issues, because of his race.

What do you think?  Do you think that the deciding factor will be race?
